Getting to Koper

By Plane
The nearest airport is Trieste. It is located 60 km from Koper, in neighbouring Italy. You can get to Koper by bus (timetable) which takes you approximately 1 hour, or by renting a car. The bus ticket costs around 40 eur/one direction.

Gettting around in Koper

On foot
Although Koper is the fifth biggest city in Slovenia, it is relatively small – it has a bit more than 25 000 inhabitants and you can easily go around without using public transportation.

By bus
If you like to travel by city buses, you can use City transport. The price of the ticket is 0.8 eur if you buy in advance and 1,5 eur if you buy on the bus.

By Taxi
Approximate price 5 – 10 EUR within the city.

8:30 – 10:30 Visit Padna

8:30 – 9:30: Visit of renovated Padna tourist info center with e-bike rental, Defibrillator, free Wi-Fi access points, Gallery of Božidar Jakac, Church of St. Blaž, tourist accommodation: Istrian stone houses.

9:30 – 10:30: visit of multifunctional courtyard and hall of cultural center with multimedia equipment, typical local products for visitors from the cruise ships

11:00 – 14:00 Visit Šmarje

11:00 – 12:30: Reception in the village (renovated village square, folklore dances, coffee & snacks)

12:30 – 14:00: Visit of Santomas wine cellar, degustation & light lunch – degustation of local products.

14:00 – 15:00 Brewery Emonec

Degustation of local beer & story of the micro-brewery.

15:00 – 19:00 Visit Olive mill Lisjak & small local brewery

15:00 – 16:00: Presentation of family businesses in Slovenian Istria – Lisjak, their high quality products, touristic offers, involvement in the local/regional tourist map etc.

16:00 – 17:00: Visit and tour of the olive mill & tasting of their products (technology, store with their products etc.)
